| First electronic counter with LED display, forward/backward-counting with auto-reset function and integrated power supply. |
| 1985 |
| The microchip revolutionized the hardware. The series 85P - a small, compact single-axis controller is presented at the Hanover Fair and captured the world market. |
| 1986 |
| Foundation of the first subsidiary (ELGO Electric AG) in Ramsen, Switzerland. |
| 1989 |
| Relocation of ELGO Electric AG to Thundorf, Switzerland. |
| 1992 |
| Foundation of ELGO Electric s.r.l. (Italian subsidiary) and opening of sales office in Berlingo, Italy. |
| Set up of subsidiary (ELGO Electric s.r.o.) in Kolin, Czech Republic (near Prague) | |
| First linear, magnetic length measuring system in serial production. Unique features: Smallest interpolation electronics. Measuring length: up to 100 meters; accuracy: 0.1 mm. The series MIX was at that time in design, size and price a world novelty. | |
